The Queen City will host two great events in one week as our Mayor has declared June 8th - 12th as "Munich-Cincinnati Sister City Week". The major events of this German themed week will include:
Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the signing of the Sister City agreement and our ongoing friendship with the city of Munich, Germany.
A conference to present the concepts of Industry 4.0. This symposium will showcase the German-developed theories and practices to fully integrate computer and information technology into the modern Industrial World, the so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution.

You are invited to a month-long photography exhibit in the Otto Budig Lobby of the Aronoff Centerfeaturing the works of prominent Cincinnati Photographer Tom Schiff and Munich Photographer Peter Schmid. You are also invited to meet the photographers at a private evening reception held at the Gallery. The exhibit is open to the public. The Reception is held on June 8th, 5 -7 p.m., and those wishing to attend should email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Industry 4.0 Conference will examine how to fully integrate advances in information and computer technology into the industrial processes of today's businesses and government. Evening Riverboat Cruise Make plans to come out and enjoy a delightful dinner combined with a unique view of our city as you cruise the Ohio. The Christian Moerlein Tap Room in Over-The-Rhine is the site of this wonderful opportunity to sample the "fruits" of this well known local brewery, Admission is only $10 which includes your first beer. Join in this Official Celebration in honor of the 25th Anniversary of MSCA hosted by Mayor John Cranley and the Munich Sister City Association. Held in the Chambers of City Council, the program will include presentations highlighting the wonderful benefits of personal and business life in both Cincinnati and Munich. The Honor Guard from the Cincinnati Police will present the colors. The Cincinnati Children’s Choir will perform.
Guests of Honor include Mayor Cranley, Cincinnati City Council Members, Deputy Chief of Mission of the German Embassy, Dr. Philipp Ackermann, German Honorary Consul Martin Wilhelmy, the Delegation from Munich led by City Council member Alexander Reissl, Council member Manuel Pretzl, former Mayor and current Council member Hep Monatzeder, and Head of Protocol Mrs. Gabriele Schwaiger. Special guests also including MSCA President Bob Stevie and the Presidents of the other seven Sister Cities of Cincinnati, the Presidents of all the area German Clubs led by GACL President Dr. Don Heinrich Tolzmann, and business leaders and representatives from the Chambers of Commerce. All interested friends of the German-American community are encouraged to attend.
Due to seating limitations in the Council Chambers, a reservation is required in order to attend.
Munich Sister Cities Gala Dinner
You won't want to miss this crowning event for the week held in the elegant Hall of Mirrors at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza Hotel. The events of the evening, including dinner and entertainment, are sure to please. The evenings festivities will be emceed by local media personality Tricia Macke of WXIX-TV. Guests of Honor will be German Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission, Dr. Philip Ackermann... plus a surprise guest.
The University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music will provide musical entertainment. A cash bar will be available. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s department pipe and drum Corps will present the colors.
